Application of Anchor Drill Rigs in High-slope Projects
High-slope support represents a relatively sophisticated technology in geotechnical engineering. Featuring rational utilization of the inherent strength and self-stabilizing capacity of rock-soil mass, simplified structural systems, improved structural stability, material savings, short construction periods and reasonable costs, geotechnical anchorage technology has become a widely-adopted method for high-slope support.
During high-slope construction, drilling for anchor cable holes poses considerable difficulties. On one hand, strict drilling accuracy is required; meanwhile, complex stratum conditions bring great challenges to drilling operations. On the other hand, working platforms are elevated above ground, which necessitates scaffold erection. Restricted by narrow working space, anchor drill rigs are difficult to position and reposition. Only light-weight drill rigs can be deployed, which come with limited drilling capacity.
Anchor drill rigs for high-slope operations shall satisfy the following requirements: strong adaptability to construction sites, reliable performance, light weight, favorable split-assembly structure for installation on scaffolds, high drilling efficiency and hole-making quality, as well as robust capability for accident prevention and troubleshooting.

At present, TIANJIN QIUTIAN GEO-ENGINEERING MACHINERY CO., LTD.. has independently developed the BHD-series multi-function full-hydraulic anchor drill rigs. Among them, models BHD-215 and BHD-115 have been successfully launched onto the market. Such bolt drill rigs are extensively applicable to anchorage construction and small-pile construction for deep building foundation pits, subways, tunnels, railways, highways and geohazard mitigation projects, which greatly improves working efficiency of bolt drilling operations.
The full-hydraulic light-weight split-type drill rigs are mainly used for anchor-cable reinforcement in mountain slope remediation of hydropower stations, highways and railways, advance support of tunnel pipe sheds, anchor cables for inclined tension piles in foundation pits, anti-seepage treatment for dam foundations and dam bodies in hydropower projects, drainage holes and other works. They are especially suitable for deep-hole casing-following drilling in boulder, cobble and gravel strata as well as overburden of fractured highly-weathered rock. Their high-efficiency and high-quality performance is fully demonstrated to achieve rapid penetration through complex formations, promising broad application prospects in various geotechnical anchorage projects.
